1. I generally don't care about hair length. I mostly focus on the health of my hair and styling. In 2013, my plans are to actually focus on hair growth. I'm curious to see how long my will grow in 1 year. For this particular goal, I'm going to use Black Jamaican Castor Oil (BJCO) for thickness and hair growth. I will consistently apply BJCO in my routine regimen and do a length check every 3 months to determine results (I will be posting result pictures through-out the year). I don't have a specific length I'm trying to reach, I just want to see how long my hair will grow without me getting it cut 5-6 times a year (only getting small trims 1-2 times a year). Results: I faithfully applied Black Jamaican Castor Oil all year. My hair did grow very healthy and full. However, my ends always seemed very weak and fragile, as result I had my hair cut 5-6 times through out the year a total of 6 inches cut off. I was okay with it, I love healthy hair and as I stated last year on this date, I don't really care about having long hair. My hair is actually shorter now than in January of 2013....
3. Lastly, I would like to create more environments for natural hair enthusiasts to join together, share their journeys and provide support for one another as well as providing information on how to maintain our tresses. In 2013, I want to increase the number of Natural Hair Meetups in the local area in efforts to continue providing support for the natural hair community. Results: I established the group Natural Mane Divas to help me accomplish this goal. We put on 4 successful events last year generating over 100 women attending!
